Rider Down...Prayers Needed
I thought that I would clear up some speculations.
Yes, this is his third accident, the first was the deer, the second was the turn, and now this one is a tree. This happened on his way to work, he was taking a back road to a 7-11 that is out of his way because he wanted a certain type of trail mix that the other 7-11 does not carry. As he negotiated for the turn he could not see the "out" of the turn and he fixated on the grass and high sided into a tree. The bike slid about 20 feet from his body and where he was on the side of the road, neither he or the bike were visible. He told me that he spent a good 10-15 minutes just screaming for help, praying that someone would hear him, but no one was passing that early in the morning. He tried to rock himself up to get out of the ditch and be visible but then he realized he could not move because of the excruciating pain. He managed to get his cell phone out and call the police, a few minutes into the conversation he lost signal and gave up. He literally told me that "I thought to myself, this is when I'm going to die." Thank God, Verizon phones acts as a locater once the dialer calls 911 and the ambulance were able to find him within a timely manner. Yes, he bit completely through his tongue, but not off, just in the middle. His tongue is almost completely healed just after one night. He was not able to get up and walk today but his last txt to me was that the nurse was about to get him sitting up and into a wheel chair. This is great news in my opinion, if he's able to get out of bed alone! Every little movement hurts him to no end, and even the pain meds don't work sometimes. His mother and I are going to visit him tomorrow evening, and I hope to have more good news!
This is the pic of part of the back brace.
