I go there tuesday for my first trip to the tail of the dragon... I post some pics after the the ride....

 

Nice. your gonna love it. Its also good your going during the middle of the week. I hear the police pressure is only heavy on the weekends. the last time I was there was in 05 and the police hadn't cracked down then. By far the best trip I have ever taken.

Make sure to check out the skyway while there. its a nice ride too.

 

I haven't been there yet, but plan on going this year.
I have a buddy at work that rides down every few years. He's said he's due to make the trip again, and invited me along.
I've heard nothing but good things.

The dragon is awesome. I actually went for my first time also. I was there Sun/Mon/Tues. with a friend of mine from NJ.

Drove through the dragon at least 6 times and hit up foothills parkway to check out the scenery and drove straight through smokey mtns national forest.

You can pretty much just take any road up there and have a nice ride (assuming you go on a weekday), and the dragon itself is super fun.

main thing while riding the dragon is to ride your own ride, dont try to be rossi up there. Have fun and be safe. BTW 'Tail of the Dragon' is the store across from Deal's Gap MC resort.
