Hey everyone, i know that this is a cbr forum but i also have a 06 ninja 250 that just wont cooperate. i was about 5 miles from home when it all started. everything was fine at first, then the bike has trouble at 5-7 thousand rpm and starts to bog and make a choking noise. I dont know if there are iridium plugs in it or not and if thats even the issue. I dont know if the timing is off or what but it could be anything. Its only at 5-7 thousand rpm and it wont go past 7 at all now so it sucks and i really need advice. thanks so much to all that help

My Lancer was doing that and it turned out I had a cracked plug. Check that first and foremost. What the plug is made out of is not going to affect your bike like that, so it doesn't matter (unless its silly putty).

Is the 06 injected?

My 250 Ninja did that and turned out my rod bearings were going until i blew my engine One day i got scared real bad..going 75mph with a semi tailgating me and suddenly bogged like i was running out of gas but i had plenty. Like 3 days after my engine blew.. I guess the oil was seeping into the cylinders cuz when my engine blew, there was absolutely no oil inside the engine.. Nor did it blow out the pipes. Might take it by the shop and ask a mechanic what they think and let them listen to the engine for abnormal noises.

 

I would change the plugs, clean the carbs, pray it's not rod bearing and see what happens.

 

i know its not the carbs because i just had them off and cleaned a month ago

 

then i would check the plugs

 

probably fuel related,my personal experience here is that jap bikes dont like ethanol.....start with the fuel

 

I saw...saw $525 leaving my hand for a in-expensive engine when i got it back from Kawai.. I coulda bought a 600 stunter or a whole 'nother engine!
