Default Radar detector/jammers

I was checking out reviews on the jammers and radar detectors. Some of them got really good reviews and they showed tests where the jammers actually jam the signal. There are some that are made specifically for motorcycles. I'm not looking to do 100mph through my city. But , 55 on the highway is just too damn slow on a sportbike. And here in NY, they will rape you on speeding. Was looking for thoughts/comments. They are legal here.

Too bad portable EMP emitters aren't available. Just let the officer come out after you then pulse it at their car, rendering the car permanently inoperable (including their radio). LOL
Speaking of which, it would also be nice to have a portable RF jammer so they couldn't radio ahead to their buddies if the EMP wasn't available.
Yeah, I know. I spend way too much time thinking about stuff like this. HAHAHA

No, radar jammers are illegal in all 50 states. It's a federal law across the country, and in some states it's a state and federal law.

Detectors are legal in most states though (I think NY has them as legal, but look yourself). I have a detector in my car. I only really speed on the highway and it has saved me a few times there. I've never been pulled over *knocks on wood* so I guess that's kind of a good example of how they work. Then again I don't speed much in cities or anything like that, that's irresponsible to me.

I've thought about putting my detector on my bike...but it's not worth it. Highways here are 65-75MPH speed limits and I don't ride them much. When I do I just cruise at like 80ish. Never had trouble even when passing cops at that speed. If I was doing that much over on non-highways I'm sure I'd get hassled. I just try to use my head about it, speeding on shorter trips doesn't really get you there faster though.

Good luck and ride safe, just follow the speed limit, and honestly...I don't notice when my detector goes off unless I hear it. Good luck hearing it going 80 on the highway with wind noise.

Laser jammers are legal in NY. You might be thinking of scramblers which are illegal. If you get the right radar detector which is made for bikes, they can be connected to an earpiece. Actually that is the preferred way cause you don't want to be looking at the display obviously. I read a lot of good reviews on the higher end escort products.

Wow. You're right. I did several searches and none of them could tell you. I simply searched "are laser jammers illegal in NY". Most said they are legal or they are illegal in only a handful of states. I never thought to look on FCC's site. Unbelievable how they are allowed to be sold all over the internet. I mean how many illegal products r sold online. I apologize. I was misinformed.

You wouldn't if the EMP emitter was able to be focused within a narrow band that could be aimed in one specific direction, and not an omni-directional one.
Though I don't think that technology exists yet.

Hehe...like I said, I think about stuff like this WAY too much.

In regard to laser jammers HERE which is via Wiki.

I can't profess to being experienced with jammers but, I've used a couple lower end Cobra radar detectors in my cage. They work pretty well actually, and obviously you can not totally rely upon them but they definitely give you an advantage - especially here where the ghost cars can literally be any sort of vehicle..which is outrageous.

I'm hoping to also put one on my bike as, the speed limit on the freeway is indeed too low. It's just the matter of setting up an auxiliary now.
