Default radar detector

i was just wondering if any one has put a radar detector on there bike and if so how did you mount it and how did you hook up the power to it? i was wanting to do it and use the one out of my car but if i cant hook up the power i may have to just go and get one that goes off of batteries.

It would be nothing to hook power up to one of them. Just cut the end off and wire it in to power somewhere. I have seen mounts that go into the top clamp for like $40. I was going to buy one but never did.

i have a beltronics rx65.. i'm going to mount it with 3m velcro on my front brake reserve. also you can get hardwire kits for them. and if you go with a battier powerd radar make sure you get the solo s2.. its about 300$ and you will want to stay away from ebay when buying. i have heard alot of stories of people getting seconds and diffrent crapy radars inside good radar cases.. anyway the bad about battery powered is they turn on and off every couple seconds to save power, so that could cost you a second + to pick up a signal. and at 80mph into a turn you will want all the time you can get to respond. lets see.. you will also want to stay away from anything cobra, those detectors are garbage. infact just checkout http://www.radarbusters.com/support/...ts/default.asp

Could always rig a cigarette lighter in your storage compartment and use it as is. Look at it this way... Now you can always light your smokes. LOL
