Not that weird; I'm a hedonist. I'm perfectly happy to do things that are bad for me if they're pleasurable Course, too much smoking will lead to less pleasure later, so I try to keep a cap on it.

i don't think it means you're still addicted. if you were addicted, i'd think that if you went out to the bars with your friends and you had one smoke, then you'd buy a pack and smoke nearly the whole thing.

thats what i did when i smoked, quit, then relapsed. i'd have "just one" that i'd bum from a friend, just to see if i liked it still, but then i had to have a ton more (damn near a whole pack). then id wake up with a headache that felt like being kicked in the back of the head by an NFL place kicker and wouldn't have a voice. then i'd feel guilty for doing it

i think its just like you said, humans are hedonistic. if you have a handle on it, thats great.

Yes..I agree...guess you cannot have best of both?? Every high has it's withdraw....I guess I don't see any highs in smoking any more? But real problem is other drugs like beer, liquor, anti-depressant, XTC etc etc....once your on any of those...your mind don't give a chit...because your problem is NOT just cigarette itself...gambling is also a drug...when you gamble on the Las Vegas tables...if you don't smoke, other does, so your the 2nd hand smoker...so you smoke too..

I guess it really does take massive discipline to just say NO!!!!!

I smoked for just over a year and quit last November. I never really got up to a pack a day unless I was drinking or with some buddies shooting guns and what not. I still bum one occasionally when I'm drunk. Since quitting I feel much, much better. I can run more than 2 miles without feeling like my lungs are trying but haul *** out of my chest.

Though Im not really sure if it was a win though cause I picked up chewing and been having 3-4 dips a day for the last couple months. But dipping definitely doesnt make you feel as sh**ty and it certainly makes things more difficult with the ladies, but there's nothing a little cant fix

motorcycle riding is a drug too! But a very good drug and addictive. I couldn't just up and quit and never ride again.

Motorcycle is a drug! That does not go well with cigarettes...full face helmet??? Ain't smoking for sure...unless your in FL w/o helmet law....or you can stop & park for a smoke...but that's a time killer...rather keep riding...

As of now..Another 24hr smoke free...and going...

was with some of my friends tonight. they started lighting up and yeah I admit I kinda missed it, but that feeling of "I need one" was gone and it was easy to say no thanks.
