When you write the way you have here, Gunny, I get concerned........
There seems to be a drop in focus, almost a bewilderment which is not the HC we all know and respect. You above all know how critical focus is...........and concentration.
You've been the sounding board for many a Marine, Gunny, perhaps time to find a sounding board you can trust - someone who knows where you've been, emotionally, and where you are right now. You also know your emotional state will determine your physical state, to a great degree, and if you aren't in harmony with yourself, it's not healthy. Can be lethal. I spent years in CQB- bush wars, as you know, and I speak from experience, and as a true friend.
God keep you safe, Brother.

Your rules have some serious meaning in them. I especially like number three, I think it should be #1. Like everyone else has said, I appreciate what you do and have the most respect for you and your choices. My two younger brothers and my father are Marines. The youngest of my two brothers graduates from boot camp next week. You have chose to do what you do on your own, and probably because of the rules you have laid out for your life.Once again, thank you for your dedication.

Sorry guys, the computer was logged in, all day yesterday, but I was not around spent most of the day with little hc and swt poet and check to see what could be done to help with the toys for tots program and honest to God for the first time in recent memory. I slept for 10 hours That's a small victory in itself for me I am not saying I wish to drop the issues that have been brought up in this thread. Just really don't have a whole lot at the moment to add or say and my mood has really not changed. But I'm just manning up and moving ahead, if you have a question about what it's like over there ask but I'm probably not going to be able to answer them all. But I will do my best to paint an accurate picture of current events, and it's not the best here's a photo of a rear door of a F350 hit with shrapnel from a mortar round inside a FOB compound where we were escorting a convoy. I was standing right in front of the door and hit the ground. Just seconds before the shrapnel struck the truck

On the subject of mail. You really are going to have to give me a little bit. Please don't stop sending its just going to take me some time to work my way through this inbox got 100 to go or so. lol There are those of you who will receive higher priority, and I make no bones about that one, based on a personal level of contact. But I will do my best to answer all of it. I have already seen some messages about enlistment questions. I may deferring you guys off to the right forum or give you a individuals e-mail address so those with up-to-date information on those type of questions, can be answered correctly. But if you still want my personal opinion on something, you know I'll be happy to give it to you and will always be happy to help any way possible

Shrapnel and anti-personnel mines have to be the most evil inventions ever devised against infantry and civilians. Good to see you were sharp, or we may not have been having this discussion !
I'm sure I can speak for everyone here when I say how much we all appreciate your commitment to all of us, at whatever level, and would go so far as to say that it's more important to spend time with your family, than answering mail. No pressure, here, we understand the position.
Now get off your idle butt and answer all these letters, damnit !
