Default Private out of state sales ?

Hey guys my girlfriend is thinking about buying a bike thats about 500 miles away in florida and i live in north carolina. I was going to go with her and check it out make sure everything is sound.

My question is if she decides to buy it can i ride it home without it being registered and tagged? I was told having a bill of sale and insurance and not doing "anything stupid" will get me home with no problems. Is this correct? does it change state by state? Please let me know asap im planning on going thurs latest.

Brandon

call the state police of the states you will be going threw (yes i know its a hastle) but it will save you a slam to the ground and cuffs for a misunderstanding. Tell them your sisuation and tell them your only transporting it for relocation. if theres enough time they will issue a 24 hour plate

when i bought my last RR i rode it home from st louis to southern illinois (about 120 miles). i talked to several cops and they DID tell me it would be okay as long as i had a bill of sale and insurance. and guess what? on the way home i got pulled over because the bike had no tags whatsoever... told him i just bought it and showed him the bill of sale and ins card. he made some calls to make sure it wasn't stolen i guess and then said "ride safe".

You should trailer it cuz you don't know anything about the bike. It may break down 5 miles down the road.
