Nope. I was thinking of Ducati. I toured the factory when I lived in Italy. The use an assembly line, just like Honda...

 

Buddy of mine who tracked an S1000RR for two years got a chance to ride a customer's '08 with TBR full exhaust and the bazzaz tuner/ignition module and had to admit that that bike was the fastest bike he had ever ridden. Another buddy of mine tracks his Repsol and unless I get some kind of insane drive out of the corner, I never catch him all the way down the straight... unlike almost any other bike out there.

Honda CBR engineers aren't completely chained to the marketing department so they don't give a fark about buzz word gadgetry and and peak HP numbers, they just know how to make a good bike... imo, of course.
