I've been there on the weekend and middle of the week. The 11 miles of the dragon is usually clear of blue and red lights until there is a wreck. Now... on the TN/oppiste end of the resort end... you have a couple of long straights where you can open her up and see well into the triple digits... DON'T. There boat launch areas have cops sitting and waiting for you.

 

Ive never seen the on the actuall tail except for wrecks. Like donc said the love the tenn side where its beautiful straight aways. But the nice sweeping curves on the way to robinsville from the resort are usually clear.
