"I know you all think I am nuts but this really means alot to me. These little birds are so beautiful and cute, it breaks my heart...
NJ will vote on this bill to stop the killing of these wild Quaker parrots.
We still need more signatures but we brought it up from 905 to 1070 on line signatures.
1500 to 2000 signatures would give us a better chance at getting it passed.
If you know someone who hasn't signed please let them know and E-mail the link to your friends.

i truely think that it is a great thing that you are doing. saving animal habitats is a very important part of saving the environment for future generations. that being said, i am skeptical of putting my name on anything without both sides of the story. you (pitsvtech) seem to be well informed on this subject and probably live in the area affected by the removal of the nests. i saw in the petition that the quaker parrots were added to a list of “potentially dangerous species†over 30 years ago. my question to you is why were they added to the list and is there any other information online from the utility companies about their reasoning for this action?
like i said, i support the saving of any natural habitats but i wish to be better informed of both sides of the issue before i sign your petition. it might sound a little crazy but i take signing anything very seriously. thank you in advance for your response and the best of luck.

nevermind the response. i found the information that i needed through a google search. it seems that the companies would still be able to remove bothersome nests, but must treat the parrots humanely and try to find a donor spot for them. i thought that the petition was for the utility companies to not be able to do anything about the problem, not about removing them from the dangerous animals list. the site was currently not working (gave me a "566 Response HTTP Version Unsupported This Web page could not be opened with the specified browser HTTP version. Please contact the owner of this Web page for more information") error message. i will try again later but i plan on signing.
