Default Planning and organization a group get together...

Many members of CBR Forums organize riding events. Organizing such an event through email or even a forum, can become a headache due to the shear fact that information can quickly become outdated and out-of-sync. You can create a wiki site to help organization such an event, so that way, everyone involved can view the most up-to-date information and also contribute their own thoughts.

I know non-techies might shy away from branching out and trying this on their own. Wiki is a very easy to use tool, but kind of difficult to explain without some sort of demonstration. So, here is a video by a company called Common Craft that explains in a very low-tech fashion, but in plain English, on how you can use Wiki. Well worth to take the 5 minutes to watch.

If you like that video, another one that you might find useful is the one on "Social Bookmarking." Basically you can use a site called, del.icio.us that gives you the ability to store you bookmarks in one location and also allows you to share your bookmarks with your friends (say having everyone see what motorcycle links you have saved).

What is Wiki?
[blockquote]"A wiki is a database of pages which visitors can edit live."

The building blocks of wikis are the "comments" from visitors.
You can generally edit a page in real time, search the wiki's content, and view updates since your last visit. In a "moderated wiki," wiki owners review comments before addition to the main body of a topic.
Additional features can include calendar sharing, live AV conferencing, RSS feeds and more."- Quote from Wiki.com
