Default planning a long ride, need helpful advice!

So im planning a trip from Carbondale IL, to Sarasota FL roughly about a 1000 miles, and 14 hours according to mr. google. I've done 3-4 hour rides before and felt pretty good afterwards. This would be a looong ride, and was wanting to see if you guys had any advice or concerns that i haven't thought of. Tires and brakes are both new. oh oh.. i have a 2000 CBR929RR. Thanks!~

You could do worse than read through this to give you a couple of ideas from the guys on here:-

https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-1000f-hurricane-38/whats-your-otr-tool-kit-98939/

Not suggesting you do everything , but this advice may help you finish the trip riding , rather than walking , or on the back of a truck

haha that was a hilarious read. So the gist of it is..fix a flat stuff, zip ties, duct tape, some tools and a can of KY??? LOL

im not super mechanically inclined, i doubt i can do any major repairs myself.

The K.Y. isn't compulsory , but it may keep your fellow riders happy (for got that was up there).

A small piece of closed-cell foam under the backside does wonders on long trips - use a piece about the size of your seat, and make sure it sits under your coccyx.............
you'll have no problem.

A pair of surgical gloves take up no space, and if you have any "issues" it's easier to keep your hands clean.............

Bring lots of water and sun tan lotion on any skin that's exposed. other then that take a break every 100-150 miles *which works out nicely since most of our tanks are that small anyway*
