THE OLD MAN DID IT
that's awesome - my very first memory on this world is riding with my dad on his honda - it was a 450CC standard bike and i sat on the gas tank and put my feet on the engine guard and he would puts around our neighborhood with me on it (and yes, i was wearing full gear at the age of 4!)
i know somewhere deep down my dad wants to get on mine..but he saw how messed up i was after my accident, and seeing your 16 year old son in the ICU kinda killed the hope of him ever getting on one
maybe some day...good for your dad tho..it will be one hell of a time

Very cool! I let my uncle ride my old F4i a few years ago...he's like 300 years old too! I think he's been riding constantly since the late 1950's. Anyway, when he got back he said "no thanks" hahaha...should let him ride the 1000RR next time he's here lol
Mate, I'm going on my annual bike club ride in May & a lot of those guys are in their 70's, last year one of those guy's showed up on his new VFR. My fondest memories of my dad are of me sitting in the side car of his Vincent & going for a ride up the coast.
I hope to be riding well into my 80's (or at least until I fall of the perch), good on him.

I cannot believe it, My old man finally purchased his first sportbike after 60 years? Dad just turned 60 and bought the same bike as me a 2005 CBR 1000. I informed him of my plans to move back to California from MI at the end of April and the next day he went out and purchased his CBR. Welcome to the club old man... Just kidding about the old man stuff, dont want to upset any of our seasond riders out there just a joke.

My favorite person to ride with is my dad. Talk about bonding. I don't think I would want my on a 1000cc superbike though. It makes me nervous enough as it is when he rides his Harley with no gear on. My dad's 43.
