Interresting fact's. The only reason you have more of a chance to die in a car is that fact that most people are in there cars alot more then on there bikes. If it's your time to go then it does not matter what you are in-you will go.

Motorcycle Deaths 4,018
with the odds of dying in 1 year being 1:73,085
4,018 x 73,085 = 293,655,530
Car Deaths 15,282
with the odds of dying in 1 year being 1:19,216
15,282 x 19,216 = 293,658,912
What they are saying is that 4018 people died out of a population pool of 293,655,530 (the American population), and simplified, that is 1 in 73,085. To say that is the true odds of dying on a bike is to say that every man, woman, and child in the country rides a motorcycle. The same goes with cars. The true telling stat would be to say the chances are 1 in (the number of motorcycle riders divided by 4,018). The chances of death on a bike are significantly higher than in a car when you do true odds instead of potential odds.

No, it's because the stats compare to the entire population.....

who has the time today while they are just browsing the internet anyway to find those stats out? How many riders are there in the US?
back in high school they said you are 16 times more likely to die if you are in a bike wreck then if you are in a car wreck, I wonder how accurate that is...
edit: "back in high school" was approximately 8 years ago for me
