Observations from a newbie CBR owner.
Congrats on the purchase.
I'm a CBR noob too as I bought my older F2 about a month and a half ago. I also noticed the Harley guys not waving, but as someone in another thread posted, Goldwing riders are even worse. I've noticed a few unwritten rules about waving and such. If the street is 4 lanes wide and you aren't crossing in lanes next to each other, there is no reason to attempt a wave. If you are going through an intersection and there is a stopped rider waiting at the sign or light, you do not wave. A head bob is appropriate. I'm sure there are more.
BTW, anyone else ever have the urge to wave to a passing bike when they are in their car? I've been riding like 4 or 5 days a week, so getting back in my truck is unusual now and I almost always feel like putting my hand out the window as a rider passes. LOL

Congrats on the 600RR purchase and welcome to the wonderful world of Honda sportbike ownership!

good stuff, just remember sometimes people cant wave due to riding conditions, if im in that situation, i try to nod, but im not gonna let go of my handle bars in a turn just to wave. but as a general rule, most harley riders wont wave unless you are on a harley, and no banditos rider will wave unless you are wearing a banditos jacket. then you just have your people who are all about riding and dont give a fack what you are riding, ill wave at a scooter damnit!
...and yes mike, i try to wave at bikes in my cage too....damn door panels.

I wave to everybody on 2 wheels, Hell, I've even waved at bicycles.
+2 on wanting to wave while in the car. I stop myself because I don't want the riders to think I'm nuts. Haha!

Welcome to the club and enjoy. I see that you don't think the bike is all you expected. You should have bought a liter bike. The sixers are more HP and almost as much torque as a beater harley though
Me, And my brother also have bought new 06 harley's and they are garbage bikes that I will never own again.I have owned a lot of honda's and they are the shiznit.

I meant that for years I have heard of the infamous "death machines" and had sort of built up a mindset of this unmanagable power. I was very pleased to see that if you keep your head and ride smart (on the road) it is a pure pleasure to ride. I truly am impressed with the performance aspect. From the motor to the brakes ...simply fun!
As I told my wife..."this is what motorcycle riding is all about".
+1 BigPops. I have owned a 1996 Sportster and a 2003 V-Rod. I owned sportbikes before those, but wanted to give Harley a try. I'll never go back toowning a Harley. (No disrespect intended, they are just not for me). Even the V-Rod with all its hp could never carve a twisty or be as exciting as my my 600RR. And as most of us here on this forum, I wave toALL bikes. Unless I can't or I'm having a brain_fart and not paying attention, which actually reminds me to pay attention! Thanks for the comments and thanks for giving us a try. Welcome aboard![sm=smiley20.gif]
Very new to riding myself, and have noticed the same thing, have even gotten the bird on numerous occasions from the harley riders, but me being noobish and all, i have actually waved and not even realized it until they have passed. O well I like most will wave to everyone on two wheels, even threw the wave to a guy on an electric scooter that I really had no idea wasn't a bike until I got right up on him....
Hey Pops...very well stated, friend. Glad you made your way over to the sportbike arena. I think that everything on two wheelsmakes some sort of spiritual connection, but I am sold on agility!
