Default Not so fun : (

So i resynced my carbs today and got it running good. No flat spots but my top speed is gone. Can only get to about 125-130 but thats more than enough. I gotta lot of torque throughout the whole band and my bike seems much louder. In fact after riding it for about thirty mins testing it out i think noise has taken its toll on my ear drums.

My right ear started to almost kinda rattle in a way. Seemed like it was beating back and forth. I slowed it down and drove home. Its not bad now but i will be wearing ear plugs from now on. I guess when i thought about always wearing gear ear plugs never made my list. But now it may be to late.

If its not better in a day or two ill be seeing the medical hobby shop.

Its when you get a ringing in your ears after the event (it goes away though) that you now that some damage may have been done. It's when you getting the high pitched drone, buzzes & chirps (Tinnitus) that never go away is when you know your hearing is RS.
I have that all the time, more noticeable when its quite (of course). (should never have gone to that Led Zeppelin concert) & they tell me as you get older & your hearing starts to fade it really gets loud. On a good night & laying in bed, I'd swear the room was full of mozzies. On a bad night, room full of mozzies that brought tuning forks.

I hear ya, pacemaker.... or should I say... "what??"
I blame mine on shooting and riding for years with no protection, and spending too much time following "clutch" around the tri-state...
The constant ringing wasn't quite as bad until everyone on here kept talking about it, though.... lol...

chalk another one up to the gunshot ringing. my ears always ring no matter what i do. i try to be a lil more careful about it now.

^^ Yep, me too. I bought a couple sets of those electronic muffs for shooting. Best $60 I ever spent. They have 2 mics in them that amplify sounds until the decibels go over a certain point. You can clap your hands and you don't hear it, but you can easily hear quiet conversations. Get some if you haven't already. Man, they are awesome and only like $30ea shipped.
For riding, plugs. But I also wear my v-modas with light tunes (even tho I prolly shouldn't)

To shooting and riding add heavy equipment. As a college student when I ran equipment it was considered un-manly to wear earplugs or muffs. The price now is constant ringing, whistling and whining (my ears, not me).

Ear plugs for riding are good, but I've found my Phillips active noise canceling earbuds do an even better job. No music, just put them in and turn on the noise canceling. Sirens, horns, etc. still come through, but wind noise is pretty much muted.

A correctly fitting helmet and windsreen that puts turbulent air over your head instead of shoulder height helps a bunch too.

Well my hearing is better now. No more ringing. Close call though. I would hate to be 20 and goin deaf. lol

When i first got my helmet it eliminated alot of noise but over time it seems to have gotten worse . owell
