New bike or new car?
Firstly, I'd like to apologise to you if I sounded mean. I didn't intend to be. We don't always understand the American humour this side of the Atlantic. I thought you were semi serious or a troll so decided to play with you a bit. Once you said I should have my *** banned, having gone through the hassle of signing up again after my last ban it put me in a "get techie girl" mode. It was still partly our dry British humour but if you were offended I'm sorry.
I would get the car because work is important and if you can't use the bike then you really need a good reliable car. Besides once you got the car you then have something else to go for and look forward to, saving for another bike.
OR
Get a sugar daddy to buy you them both!

You should have done a poll, would have love to see how one sided this would have been. I live in VA now from TX where a bike is rideable all year. Now that im here mine will be going into storage real soon for the sh!tty weather ahead. A friend of mine is from Jersey, based on what he said do you honestly think that a motorcycle will be your best bet in the winter with snow??? If somebody that has experience riding in snow/ice please share your story. I have no intentions of attempting to ride mine in either.....Like stated earlier this is a CBR Forum and im actually suprised this isnt one sided leaning towards a bike.....
GREAT RUNNING CAR FTW! you dont buy yourself a new dress when you're starving. So why buy a toy when you need a vehicle????
JP: dont get it confused I love riding and have been for close to 9 years straight(Its funny how you try to tell me "unlike you" when you know absolutly nothing about me). There is a time where you need to evaluate your priorities..... When your happy miserable riding your bike down the highway in 10 degree weather ill be happy happy in my tahoe blowing flames!

Where in Va?
What year tahoe? I have an 07 ltz
With as much as your going to put down I'd say get both if you can afford insurance on both at the same time. Ifind nicely used cars all the time under 3 grand or around. And you can get a nice bike all day for 3k as well.
I thought having a poll was a good idea, too, so I added one. I don't see why it would be a problem, TechGirl, but if it is..... let me know and I'll take it down.
I say car, too, btw. (or both if you can find a couple good ones for cheap. I know I could get set up great with $6500)
Car/truck comes first, bike second. I can't ride my bike in the snow or take it off road at work, or to business meetings, or to pick up my dad at the airport...lol. (etc. etc.)
Just not practical at all, imo.
