Default new bike exhaust

i have always liked the short cut exhaust look with the pipe slashed out the bottom. i even asked a few months back here how i could build or convert something like that. anyway i found this on ebay and read through it and just wondering if its some cheap crappy exhaust thats going to take away performance or sound like hell? it looks just like what i have wanted but it is a cheap price and im not sure about the tuning.

i have an 01 F4i

i actually bought that exact exhaust for my old f2 from the same place. it isnt as easy to install as they describe and i had to modify the connection to headers on mine. Also, because there is only a small(barely there) baffle and pretty much a straight through design it was LOUD. almost annoyingly so, an extended ride would leave my ears ringing and a passenger would have it worse.

Another thing is since it is so short and almost no baffle, not sure it would create the correct amount of backpressure for the motor. I am unsure of this point as i sold the bike shortly after the purchase. maybe somebody can explain better if it would or not.

Not sure if this helps or not, if you dont mind the noise and somebody can answer the backpressure question, it is quite a steal for 60 bucks. I have do admit it made the bike look quite nice when i finished installing it to mine.

Please, just don't, just don't buy it.

This link to that ebay seller appears every week in different threads. I don't think it's worth of buying.

Well... maybe you will like it...

This kinda says it all:

Due to different state regulations on emissions and noise disturbance, this item is for off-road use only. Use at your own risk.

The max in Oregon is 80 db for anything newer than 1985. That pipe is measured at 105 db. Doubt it would be legal in most states

I think it's 85 or 86 db here in FL. Any place that allows 105 db probably doesn't have anything for noise restrictions cuz that's loooouuuud!

Pretty sure he's just covering his *** and knows that it's not legal anywhere... lol

And what 2H said...

This thread is probably number 1,000 on the list... they're cheap ebay junk... loud as hell... makes your bike perform worse even when tuned properly... what's the point? Why do you suppose the guy is selling it?
