Default Put exhaust from another bike on my F4i???

I cant seem to find a nice short can exhaust for my 01 F4i in a reasonable price, so I was wondering if I bought....say...a scorpion oval slip on for a 05 gsxr 600 would there really be so much of a negative response mechanically?

New to bikes, but doesnt seem like it would be such an issue to me?

My friend has an '01 f4i and we installed a scorpion pipe from an '06 and up gsx-r 600. Bike runs great and sounds great too. It will not fit directly to your bike though. We had to do a little fab work.

The can won't fit your mid pipe usually. So it won't direct bolt on. You'll usually need customize one

Its possible, but a custom mid pipe is needed. honestly there are better choices out there than a 05 gsxr pipe, unless it is a 1000. Up until 05 the 600 and 750 had a bolt on type canister rather than the much more common and easier to adapt slip on style canister. Do to this fact there are plenty in the gsxr world who swap the 04 1000 header on there 04/05 600 for a greater variety of available exhaust choices.

Used shorty ART pipe

Used Two Bros Pipe could be cut down into a nice uncommon shorty

Nope, just the can. Had to use part of my old midpipe to make it work. Would recommend a power commander to optimize the air/fuel ratio to maintain maximum power tho.

i used a two brothers slip on from an 08 gsxr1000 and it was almost a perfect fit. Had to have my buddy cut off the end of the midpipe and weld on the end of an f4i midpipe so it connect to the headers properly but other than that not much else work was needed to be done. If you go through my f4i album youll see it. All the mufflers and midpipes are the same for the most part, theres really no difference from one bike to the other besides the way the midpipe is bent to fit the bike. Theres obviously exceptions but for the most part just find a used exhaust that you like and you can get a custom midpipe made for your f4i and youll be good to go.
