Need opinions again...(Update)
I find it hard that you'd get bored of the '07 with-in a year. If it will not hurt you financially, can afford the payments, full insurance w/ gap then do it. Do it.. be happy.
But if its going to put you really tight then don't do it... cuz you'll just be worrying about the payments/etc and not enjoy the time on the bike. (Burden)

Go for it. You loose money on any vehicle purchase you make. So if you're paying for something, it might as well be something you really wanted. Just play hard ball and squeeze out as much out of the F4i as possible (and clean the HELL out of it before trade in.)

+1 brother you are gonna have a payment why not have what you want. So you loose a few bucks so you do not go the the bar for a few nights.
i say try you luck on craigslist, cycle trader, mabey a forsale sign tapped to your bike when you ride. I feel bad saying it, but all you need is the right sucker and you will be on your way to the RR, you should definatly be able to pick up a good bit more then trade in value even on a modest sell.
OMG Dood I hope you do it...woot!
It's the pefect time to buy...there's all kinds of '07 1000RR's for sale with zero miles--brand new--for around THREE THOUSAND LESS than MSRP which is $11,499.
But it's ebay, and you'd have to go pick it up...but you wouldn't have to pay their state sales tax...but I'll bet EPN would loan you his sweet trailer.
It's definitely worth looking into...
Silver '06 New $8499
Black '07 ends Wed $8995
Silver '06 New $8699
And I've seen all the other colors come through recently too, even a Repsol...good luck!

Step 1: Keep your bike. Get out of the crazy debt-minded brain washing we're force fed daily.
Step 2: Use the cash to buy a fun dirt bike to keep you sane for a while. Save the balance until you can either buy the bike outright or with substantial down payment.
Step 3: Collect underwear.
Step 4: ???
Step 5: Profit!

It is only numbers, you lose money all the time on a vehicle. The only way to effectivelylessen the depreciation thing on the F4i and RRis to ride the new bike twice as long as you would have to spread the pain over more time.
