A few observations, but no real advice.

Riding a sportbike is always a money losing proposition, unless you're winning races. It's just a matter of how much you want to spend on this little hobby.

Going into debt to pay for a depreciating asset never makes financial sense.

And speaking of depreciating, you're going to get robbed on trade-in for your old bike. Better to sell it privately.

The F4i is a very capable bike, and has more performance than you probably can use.

In the end it's an emotional decision. If having an RR will put a big grin on your face, and won't prevent you from meeting your financial responsibilities, you might as well go for it. Or just wait a whileuntil you start jonesing for a liter bike.

I don't take out loans for my toys so I'm not the one to advise here. Why do you think I have a 2000 F4-paid cash.

The problem with selling outright is having people come to your house, they want to ride the bike, you have to make sure they have cash since fake checks are all over now and the 07's will get sold out.

Do what you can afford and makes you happy. We only live once so find a good balance and have fun.

Okay guys...thank you for all the responses. There are alot more "go for its" than I though. I talked to both of my local(ish)shops. They both have the blue and silver, and one has the black (the one I wanted besides the red and black). One place flat told me I will lose at least $1000 dollars if I give it to them and they start my loan over on the RR. I am a friggin'idiot, but I am not a dadgum moron. I can deal with depreciation and percentage rates, but I am not going to flush $1000 down the toilet. So...I put the bike on Craigslist, my local trade mag, and I will put it in theCycle Trader. If I don't get top book for it, big deal. I won't sell it. I love my bike to death, andif it is worth more for me to keep it, then so be it. I just love the '07 RR, too (Voodoo= potential bike *****). It won every"shootout" this year in every mag I read, and not by a little. The '07 kicked every other sportbike's *** handily. That is the bike I want, if I can get it...and I can get it for $8500. That seemslike a good priceto me (at least something I can deal with). Anyway, that is the update. I'll keep you guys posted.

Update:

I went to sit on the bike at the dealership closest to me. Felt different, but good. Something I could get used to. I was bs'ing with the salesman, and he said that I should get a 1000. He says they are easier to ride, and that you can actually "ride them lazy" (his exact words). He said that you have to work harder on the 600's. Also, he likes that you can go through the corners at like 4,000 rpm instead of 7-8k. What a feminine vaginal product this guys is. That is why I am going 100 miles away to another dealer if this deal works out. I don't want to give such meatheads any more of my money...[:@]
