Need help and suggestions on leather jackets...
my thoughts exactly tahoe...that new alpinestar looks nice with the pockets not only for the spine protector, but also for chest protector inserts as well (which i would wear if aggressively riding)....i think my mind is made up to get the new alpinestar one....i know alpinestar makes good quality stuff and even though i initially wanted a cool design, i think the simplicity of the red/black combo is nice on it too...

High quality Brazilian leather
Precurved fit Kevlar stretch panels
CE approved armor
Aero sport aerodynamic hump
AGV logos made from 3M reflective material
The jacket above is under $ 270 and is very well constructed. They also have full leather jackets without spinal protectors, but CE armor in shoulders and elbows and are priced around $190. This particular model above has the humpback and spinal protector, is designed from the race engineered technology and offers, as far as I'm concerned, some of the best protection out there and from someone who is not happy to admit this but I have been on the pavement three times and will trust AGV with my life. Now. Please read the below Warning
I am a big AGV fan, but if you ever need customer support, you can forget it. They will not respond to phone messages or e-mails concerning defective equipment. Even if it has been registered with them. However I will fully admit that have had very little problems with anything ever purchased from them. I just got a helmet from them and a lacktab on the shield broke the first day. I have made numerous attempts to contact AGV directly to resolve the issue. Never got a satisfactory answer or any response from them and it has now been 21 days since I lodged a complaint. I have called them more times than I can could count and e-mailed the US office, the worldwide office, and finally have contacted the Italy home office and checked their website today, only to find it had been hacked What a joke, no **** check it out for yourself. It looks like I will be replacing the shield myself
I have Joe Rocket Blaster 2.0 and I am really happy with it. For those who don't know which size they should buy:
use a tape measure and measure your chest, and then add 1 to your chest size. That number is the size of the jacket you should buy. If your waist is bigger than your chest then you should follow your waist size. I bought my jacket 2 weeks ago and I wasn't sure which size to choose. I read this from an article which I couldn't find right now.

you know, i was looking at "race ready" jackets, but i think if and when i start track days, i will get a track day suit.....with a hump...i would feel odd wearing a jacket with an air hump on my daily 1.5 mile commute to and from work daily....but i will check out their street jackets though...thanks hardcorp...and for what its worth, your reccomendation means a lot being you have been down and lived to tell about it...
Well those are street accidents. I have been down on the track a few times back when I ran WERA for just a minute. They had a all AGV series at that time, which required you to use AGV gear, I don't know whether the series is still running or not haven't looked at the schedule in a long time but that is when I really began to have faith in AGV gear based on how well it stood up to abuse

SHIFT products all the way!!!!
I had the mesh version of bluefox's jacket (not the one in the picture, the one he crashed in) I dont have it anymore because the thing saved my life, didn't rip but the paramedics had to cut it off me instead of taking it off (Ihad 3 broken ribs, and a hole in my chest) if it wasn't for the jacket I would be dead. So Sift products have proced themselves, with me and fox. I think the leather is even stronger so, an even better buy.
I love my Joe Rocket Sonic. It has a strips of leather that zip off if you want some air through the mesh underneath. Haven't been down with it yet so I can't say how it will do but it is very sturdy.
