Default Need help deciding insurance companies?

I know people need help deciding who to go with as far as insurance for your bike. This really only applies to people getting full coverage insurance. If you have liability then i say go with the cheapest well established company. But i work as a tech in a dealership and see how some companies handle crash repairs. They send out adjustors that will nickel and dime the repair to death, trying to remove as many parts from the repair. Remove damage parts that he thinks isn't part of the crash, or others just do their own estimate and don't know what to look for, or just miss a lot of parts and then I have to make another estimate for the parts that were missed, and submit a claim to them and the owner has to wait like another couple of weeks. Now i don't know all the insurance companies across the U.S. But i can tell you how to tell which company is best. What you do is go to your local biggest dealership, go to the service department and talk with an service advisor. They are the ones that deal with all the companies. You ask them which are the best companies. They will clearly have favorites, and you can ask why. Then from there you can get quotes and find which are cheapest. I know pain in the butt, but hey sometimes when you crash it is more a headache getting your ride back than anything.

State Farm works for me.
It helps having multiple policies.
I dont think they insure only a bike by itself.

27, 3 years of a clean record (which is as far back as state farm goes). 1 speeding ticket 3.5 years ago.

2 car accidents that were my fault as a teenager

that's it.

My wife works at an attorney's office that deals with nothing but auto accidents. She says state farm is the least evil/easiest to deal with, and most likely to pay on a claim without a huge fight.
I have had to argue with a claims rep or two, but always felt okay about the outcome. We've been with them for nearly 10 years, and I have no complaints.

Just some advice: I don't know about other states, but in Oregon you have to request (and pay extra for) personal injury protection (P.I.P.)
It's basically insurance for you while on the bike. Saved my behind after my lowside a year and a half ago. Paid for knee surg., meds, physical therapy, everything. It doesn't cost very much at all. and if you can afford to, get higher policy limits too.
