need help...600rr and f4i rotor question...
So i have looked all around and it seems that the bolt patterns are the same for the rr and the f4i....
i found a place were i could get a sweet set of Alth wave rotors for dirt.....but they only carry 600rr rotors [:@]....so i am trying to figure out if they will fit an f4i....bolt-wise they should...but otherwise????
ANYONE...PLEASE....i can't seem to find specs on the 600rr rotor vs. the f4i rotor....i don't know anything other than the min spec rating for the f4i rotor is 3.5mm which doesn't do me any good....
does anyone know if they are interchangeable....specifically the rotors i am looking at are for the 03-06 600rr i believe...

RE: need help...600rr and f4i rotor question...
Let's see here....
F4I Brake info (2005):
Front Diameter: 296mm (11.7")
Front Disk Brake Disk Thickness: New - 4.4-4.6mm (.17-.18"), Service limit - 3.5mm (.14")
600RR Brake info (2006):
Front Diameter: 310mm (12.2")
<I'll get back to you on thickness, downloading ANOTHER manual as we speak. >
From that there... you may have an issue with diameter... it's close, but not the same! Hope that helps?

Let me check. I've got a few service manuals (from honda) and from www.bikez.com. I'll get back to you in a second.

alright...still looks like i am screwed with the 600rr rotor though..if it's diameter is bigger, i would be afraid of it ending up to far inwards in the caliper....ugh.....
they have alth rotors for a 600rr for like $360 for a PAIR of wave rotors...
on a side...Lrn....they have ones with BLUE rotor carriers for that price....

Hmm... seems the 07's have the same diameter... but somehow I heard they changed the way the mounted or something... hmm... but no, I don't think they're the same though as the 1K.
As far as would it work? That's hard to say (in your case). You're got half an inch of difference in diameter alone, which brings it a quarter of an inch closer to the insides of your calipers. I would say this probably wouldn't work, clearance wise, and the main thing is that the pads may fit too low (since they ride 1/4 inch lower now). That's just my thinking.
Then again... you could always drop in the suspension (tripple, forks (inverted even!), etc) from an RR... then you wouldn't have to worry about it and could get those cheaper rotors! *stuffs the logic of spending all that money to get "cheaper" parts under a pillow*
