Need advise thinking of murder...
That's the benefit of raising a puppy as a breed of dog that happens to come with muscle, teeth, and the skills to use them...they are fantastic with children, especially Rottweilers, IMO. But it makes no sense to get a "guard dog" now, it would be too rare to find an adult dog that will immediately defend the house, assimilate with the other dogs, and treat the child as a member of the "pack."
God I'll bet this **** bugs you every minute of the day oreo, sorry to hear it. Keep your eyes open and wait for your chance. You'll recognize the right opportunity...

If the guy would try to poison the puppies... he'd find himself taking a dirt nap... those are family as well.
Hell, I'd consider flying down there to help him "get rid of the problem" but alas... hard evidence does not come until the provervial 11th hour... and with out that it would be cold blooded murder, so all I can do is hope someone else gets the ****er before we have to, or that Oreo really gets the drop on him if the asshat tries anything stupid.

Get an alarm system, get a camera set up that you can record to your hard drive (their not that expensive, I have one with 3 cameras + infrared) Get dead bolts fitted on the doors. Now this guy would not be the one doing the break ins, he would not be a total fool, but the dicks that he has coming around to his place would no doubt be doing it.
Don't let this guy take over your life, take the steps that you need to protect your family & valuables, then get on with wot you do normally. May take a while but he will eventually move on.
Don't get yourself into bigger trouble (with the law) than he has.

Everyone has some really good Ideas and suggestions. If I were you, I would cut my losses and move. I understand you got a killer del on the house, and you love it, but if its in a ****ty neighborhood, with homeless folks digging through trash, etc...I wouldnt want to live there. I would rather be in a small overpriced home in a nice, safe neighborhood. Before I left Ga, my neighborhood was great. There were times that we forgot to close the garage door after backing out, going to work, and come home over 10 hours later, and no one had entered, or taken anything. Just my 2 pennies.
Oreo, I've read all the other suggestions about guard dogs, cameras, HARDCORP intervention and so on, all good ideas - I'd like to throw this one in the ring -
If this guys been in prison, you can do a statewide search for paroled offenders in your state, just by looking up the Dept of Corrections units in your state and inputting his name.
If you can prove that the guys he's having visit are ALSO offenders, that's a violation of parole, and he could be back in the slammer if you can prove it.
Perhaps a call to his parole officer, explaining the circumstances would also help.
There are ways and means within the legal framework for dealing with scumbags like this - he'll make a mistake (they ALWAYS do) and then you'll be in a better position to be rid of him. You could also check to see whether the old lady left the house to him, or he's just 'looking after it' Maybe there's a legitimate owner out there who can have him moved.
WDR is right - he's a prime candidate for a dirt nap if he harms anyone, or even if you think he's a danger to your children - report it to the police - when children are involved they are bound to take action.
Don't move away - that's how good neighborhoods become the kind of place he's comfortable. Make it unpleasant enough for him, and he'll leave........

thanks man, Ill check if i can contact his PO.
and thanks to everyone for their replies, I'm definiteley not moving, this is MY HOUSE and no one is going to dictate when and how I leave. as soon as I get my next paycheck, I'm getting a couple wifi cameras.
Now if he comes near my wife or daughter all bets are off.

Oreo, you have other legal ways to make his life miserable..............
Phone call to the police, giving the adress and saying he's dealing dope out of the house.
The 10 minute visits from vagrants sure sound like he is.......and if he's a convicted felon, they'll be sure to check ......
Phone call to the local health dept, complaining about excessive rubbish on his property. They'll visit and inspect the place, and they have right of entry (as far as I know) if they believe public health is in danger. If dope is found, they'll report it too, and your problem is gone.
Be creative, Oreo, make the system you have worked so hard to protect, work for you..........

Dummy cameras also work for a cheap fix until you can afford a real system. Sucks you have to deal with the scum bag but I would put acamera facing his property and make it known its there by telling him its there. Hopefully that will slow the traffic that comes for the 10 min fix at his pad thinking there on a recording.
