My Wife's New Bike...
So, I've talked my wife into getting a motorcycle. We were looking at Rebels then the VLX. I REALLY wanted her on a sportbike so we could be Mr. and Mrs. Sporty and hit the twisties together...basically have comprable machines. Well, a friend of a friend has an '05 Kawi Ex250 with 1500 miles on it. This gal fell over while walking it down the drive and so there is some cosmetic damage, but apparently they have new plastics for it. They are only asking $1200 for it which seems like a smokin' deal to me. Anyway, I got her all excited about that bike, and if it is still for sale, it is ours! I'm stoked...Mama's gonna look hot on her Neenja! It's used, it has 250 cc's, she is a new rider...I explained she couldn't have asked for a better starting bike.

that's awesome man congrats! Sounds like you got a pretty cool lady. I've been trying to get my girlfriend in the saddle since I've started riding so we could do it together but she's just too afraid. Maybe one day she'll give it a try and she'll probly fall in love with it like we all did!
Good luck!

good deal! the great thing about the 250's is as long as you can keep it decent you can sell it later for darn near what you paid for it. take her to the MSF so she can learn right. now please don't take that wrong but when we teach our significant others to ride drive or anything to that effect we cant teach then right. we have too much of a vested interest.
we get nervous and tend to panic to easily.

It only took a year on the 250 that we bought and my other now wants a 600. It is a great learning bike for women. She says she feels kinda like a poser on it, but everyone else thinks it is awesome regardless that it is a 250. Guys definitely dont give girls crap for being on a 250. IMO, they shouldnt give a guy learning on a 250 flack either, but the fact of the matter is they do.

I second what Blindinorange said. I tried in vain to help my gal learn. I simply could not convey my experience to her in a way that made sense to her. The I'd get pissed, she'd get pissed and so on. So I brought in a friend of mine who told her the exact same stuff I told her and for her it was like a light going off in her head, it was all good. Boy, that kinda pissed me off, too. She passed the MSF course a couple weeks ago and we are going for a short ride tomorrow. My F4 against her HD Sporster.
I promised to go very slowly for her.....
