Default My bike is a skeleton

As she sits for now...sometimes you gotta take a few steps backward to go forward.

Also, before you say it...the bike is not hanging by the frankenstein bolts on the side of the frame, those extra straps were added for security...99% of the weight is being supported by the tubular frame brace just forward of the carbs...a necessary step to get the forks off. Already got a low mile F4i front end incl. forks, axle, triples, brakes, a fender, and clip ons for a steal...it's 10x nicer than the front end that was on it before I crashed. This is my first time working on a bike but I've dabbled heavily in cars so it helps...I would feel comfortable picking up a newer totaled bike and restoring it to glory at this point. Kinda hard seeing my 3 grand hanging in the car port for now. I'm hope to have it back on the road before November.

kinda both...it's a 99 F4 that I let down going through a corner...I guess you could say I "put'er in the wall"...more like ditchline but you get the idea. At this point I like to think of the forks as sort of a crumple zone so that would be a negative on the question regarding frame damage. It would take a pretty hard impact to tear up that part of the bike...fortunately my left fork tube gave first.

Refer to:

...for the background report.

F4i front end parts are easier to come by so the front end is going to be rocking the 01+ dual headlight style. Now, just need an upper fairing and windscreen and that'll do it. For example...fairing stay for my F4 about 60-100 bucks...I got an F4i one on ebay for 22 shipped. I already had the dual seat swap waiting in my cbr's bedroom haha
