motorcycle for a 3 yr old
i have a 3yr old son and there is no way i would let him ride a self powered motorcycle yet. he is does not have the coordination to do that yet. instead we got him a plastic step2 motorcycle he rides around the house and makes motorcycle noises on (me too). we also got him a electric powered four wheeler he can play with out side its much safer. sorry HC but i wouldnt do it, although i do plan on having this same argument at my house in about 2 years.
make him wear a helmet and a jacket or he'll be riding circle wheelies in the living room and bail into the entertainment center!
teach him about gear!
why not buy him a land louge? i mean its only gravity right?

I personally think 3 is too young. I'd wait until 5 or 6. At 3 you have a kid who might play burnout 3 on XBox and then think it's right to crash into things. Beside I think a normal bicycle is better for hand, eye, feet coordination.
3 is kinda young for a bike. I started riding a 1669 Honda Z50 with no brakes when i was 6 and I have been rideing every since. I feel it's good to get the kids riding young so that they are not 18 at a dealership getting a 600 and have no idea how to ride or operate a bike.
He's your kid so do what you feel is right, but let the kid ride when he's ready.

I started my 8 yr old son on a 600 F3!

Just joking but he did have a power wheels dirt bike at 3 and PW50 when he was 5 but he didn't ride it much.

3yr old and an electric motorcycle...My 3 year old nephew cant even drive a power wheel without wrecking into everything....I would wait a few more years and get him a dirtbike, I got my first dirtbike when I was 6
I just wanted to give everyone a update on Ryan's Birthday party. It was Saturday; he did not get the motorcycle. Sorry guys, I got my way, we worked out a compromise. He got a little bicycle and a power wheels Escalade. So HC could work with him on the bicycle and he could learn about how things with motors work with the Escalade. We will see how this goes between now and Christmas, if he doesn't get one at Christmas, and I mean the little electric motorcycle. We will do it. His next birthday, for sure
This came up last year before little HC's birthday. I won out and we didn't get the bike. Now Ryan's 4 yrs old and is wanting the motorcycle. Of course HC is all for it, while I still have my reservations. Where we live now, he wouldn't really have any where to ride it. Plus, as a mother, all I see is blood flowing. I know, I know, he's a boy and is going to get bumps and scrapes all the time, but I'm just not wanting to be making daily trips to the ER. What do you guys think? Oh, and yes, I am overprotective and I'm proud of it[:-]

but you cant deny him his destiny forever
