Holy ****, crank up the speed, then it get's real trippy!

Here I thought I was gonna read about detaching retinas from extreme speed changes like dragsters with their heavy stops and all.

Fixation causes blindness to other objects.

wow that's nuts....just tells you much target fixation can get to you....

imagine someone fixated on the car in front of them....they wouldn't see anything else around....e.g. a bike!!!

scary stuff

We studied this a little in psychology, its because of the way the receptors in your eyes and the way its analyzed in your brain. Way over my head but i learned a few things.

look at something in the dark, If you look straight at it you cant see it, if you look next to it you will then be able to see it but as soon as you look back at that object it will not be visible again. Something to do with the sensitivity of receptors in different parts of your eye.

pretty cool shyt the way the human body works.
