Honestly it all boils down to the fact that most kids under the age of 20, and quite a few above that are just too stupid and lack the stable judgement to not kill themselves on a liter bike. There are always exceptions to every rule though and if he's not the average dumba$$ kid who had to have a liter bike "cuz it's da fastest" then good for him. But the law of averages isn't favoring him any. Liter bikes for kids is just a bad idea for all sorts of reasons that don't need to be listed here, including the ones above. On a side note, he can afford a liter bike that's all tricked out and the insurance on it at 17? Having rich parents who like to spoil their kids and don't much care if they survive it must be nice.

At 17 I had been on a few bikes a 7? yamaha 2 stroke at 15 and a ninja 250 and I had rode some 600's. My parents didn't buy any of the bikes by the way. I probably could have made it on a 954 at the time. alot of people on here have less hours in the saddle then I did and go buy a 1krr or a 600rr for there first bike at 25 and can't handle it and wreck. Whats the difference?
