Hey guys/gals

i know this may be the wrong section to post this in and i apologize up front for it, im new to this forum and couldnt find a different place for this post to go, but i know this general tech section gets alot of veiws so i thought this would be a place for it.

I realize i have no authority or senority here, but im trying to become more involved and make friends here.

I dont think that these forums should support/allow bad habits.

what i mean by that is why do we allow people to post pictures and videos of for lack of a better term "idiots" riding motorcycles with no gear at all. I dont want to call anybody here an idiot because i respect alot of you, but why promote this reckless driving with no helmets or no jackets/pants. I know alot of regulars here and experienced riders and know how to handle situations, but what i'm getting at is that accidents happen, and people,especially new members come to this site(very well respected) and then these young riders see all these new videos and pictures of guys riding with no regard to safety. whether you choose to believe it or not, alot of young riders look up to you guys and when they see people riding with no more then a pair of shorts on poppin wheelies down a road, they are gonna think thats "cool" and their gonna try things like that, and when accidents happen, or other people(non riders) see this, us motorcyclists are gonna get a bad reputation. it only takes a few to put opinions into others heads.

I just wish we could keep an eye on this and realize that many different eyes see these things and then they can go out and promote this non safe attitude.

dont get me wrong, i am a big fan of stunters and their abilities, i wish i could do it. but theres a difference between safe and fun and reckless.

again i apologize if its in the wrong area, or just straight up a dumb thing to say here, but i have alot of respect for this forum, and i want us to have a good reputation.

Just an idea to keep in mind, sorry if i offend anyone, not my intention, i just realize that theres more to it then looking "cool"

 

no offense taken. i have to think though (being a member and seeing what has happened here), that maybe your seeing it a different way then it is being spoken about (flamed about). i dont know which posts have raised your concern. all of the posts that i have ever read on this board is absolutely against squidish behavior. i dont think anyone will take offense to your concern, in fact most will back it up.
oh and dont mind the avatar it's not directed towards you

What you have to realize, is some members do the exact same shyt in those vids n do promote/condone/argue it against alot of us other memembers who do not. In the end tho we all are bikers n love to ride. Some tho just choose to taking uncalled for risk for the sake of fun n thrills.

 

if you see something that is really bothersome please feel free to pm (private message) a mod or admin we will look into all concerns with sincerity and objectivity.

 

To each their own. It only hurts them not you. I can care less if others ride with sandals on, its not my feet.

We all have our opinions on what a squid is and is not, these are just our opinions on the subject at hand. Like me I feel that if your going to be a gear **** you need to be wearing full leathers to be a preacher.

 

This kinda guy will appear ever where once Obama gets elected.. he's just pushing his ideas on other people he knows nothing about. no thank you sir I will do what I want when I want and thank god I live in America that allows it.

I'll be the first person to call a squid a squid, but that doesn't give you the right to not let them talk about it.

 

i agree if they do stupid **** fine...we can all attack there views at the same time. thats what gives us a reason to log on everyday if we didnt allow personal opinion the site would dry up quick...

 

Usually any squidish vids or pics I've seen on this sight have been someones example of what NOT to do....spend some time here and I think you'll change your perception of us........

 

I know i myself have put up some "semi" squidish vids before, i know there have been a wheelie or 2 in my vids that arent on a deserted street. I dont go bragging, or saying how cool it is to do. I think most of the guys here who know me take into consideration that most of the time i play safe. Granted someone new does not realize that fact, but i dont feel i should have to take my videos down because of that either. So i do see what you are saying TJ, but at the same time it would be infringing on what i feel are my rights here as well, which is to post some vids and pics of me enjoying how i like to ride.
