Looking at a truck
So I haven't really measured any bikes or truck beds, but what size trucks accommodate a street bike in the bed? Just wondering how small of a truck can you go with and still manage to park a bike in the bed.
my bike fit in a 93 ranger splash(flare side) bed...I think thats the smallest bed made by a tuck too(6" and narrow)and the gate would barley shut with my bike sideways in the bed.
a bike should fit in any size bed whether the gate will shut or not, as long as its strapped down good its not going anywhere.

I've hauled every one of my motorcycles and dirtbikes, and others for friends in a 1981 Chevy Luv truck. It's probably the same size as an S-10 or a little smaller. You'll be fine with anything so long as it still has the tailgate on it if its a smaller truck.
any truck will fit the bike, some with tailgate up some with it down, shortest bed ive ever seen is 6 foot and with the tail gate down it makes it about 7-8feet long and the bike is only 6.5feet or something like that. Get a good ramp and you wont need a high spot to load the bike. just make sure you have a ramp that is about 8 feet long.

The ramp is the problem. If you've never had to stop on a ramp then try it. Also finding your footing if need be its not fun.
Alright thanks guys, I was looking at something like this maybe http://www.discountramps.com/smc-600...cle-hauler.htm it's just $250 and looks to be a little less luggage than a trailer. I dunno, I'm just trying to consider my options for another vehicle.I would hate to get rear ended with something like that on though, it would hurt.
Pretty neat, but I dont know why but all I can see if someone ramming the back of your ride and your bike getting smooshed. Of course that can happen with a trailer too.
Looks decent.
