Question Looking for advice on a tinted visor

I got a helmet a couple of years ago that was on sale because the model had been discontinued. I haven't worn it much, but I think I'm going to use it this season. With my other helmets I always have 2 visors, a tinted for the day, and a clear for night. The problem is they don't have any tinted visors for this specific helmet anymore, so I picked up an extra clear one with the intention of tinting it myself. I've seen 2 methods for doing it but I'm not sure which I should try.

1. Window tint. I've heard it doesn't stick, which would be a problem, but I've also seen a lot of people online say they've used it to put a tint strip on the upper part of their visors.

2. Dye it. There's some how to's and some video's out there about people using Rit dye (just fabric dye I think) to tint their visors. Basically you get your boiling water and dye mixed up, then just dip the visor in and it will bond to the plastic. I think this method would be better if it stands up to cleaning, but I'm not sure.

Are there any other solutions? Again buying a tinted visor is not possible.

are tinted tear offs available? even one from a larger visor that can be trimmed down.

I want the entire visor to be covered... despite being practical, I like the way it looks. I've seem some tear offs or 'reusable' tint, but I'm looking for a more permanent solution.

i was thinking a tear off bigger than your visor, then trim it to cover and leave it on.

i know they make paint for tail lenses in smoke. you can still see the light through it, but for vision.....?

I've tried spray tint on mirrors before (blue tint) and I wasn't happy with the clarity, it distorted the image so I took it off. I imagine the same would happen if I tried to spray a visor. I haven't seen tear aways bigger than a full face visor before.

The helmet is a CKX Demon (same as the CRAFT RX6 Evo, but it would cost over $80 to have a tinted visor brought in from the UK)

Rit dye could be the best option. I've done a number of plastics with it although I'm not 100% sure about tinting acrylics. It doesnt work perfectly on all types of plastics and there's no going back once you've tried it.

I think Rit dye would look the best if it went on well. Even with the best tint film installation you'd be able to tell it's a sticker. Rit dye would cover the tab to lift the helmet and everything, which would look way better imo.
