Heck, I've stayed at that dancing water fountain place many times. That's the fountain in front of the Bellagio.

Bellagio. Hit Vegas at least once a year for almost as long as I can remember .

 

I had to go to Vegas last year for business, and while being given a tour of our assets in Aria and The Crystals in CityCenter, I was given a lesson in "buddy-buddy" contracting gone wrong, on the largest possible level.



This is the Harmon Hotel - originally part of the Up-scale CityCenter development. This is how it sits today, and since 2008. It is completely empty inside. It has never been used as a hotel.

Originally was supposed to be 49 stories. Inspectors found out that the rebar in the first 15 floors had been done incorrectly, and thjere were issues with the concrete as well. A redesign cut the building to the current 28 stories at that point. After that, the project was put on delay, and the exterior was all that was completed at that point.

They were going to implode it,but apparently so many people haven't been paid for the construction, the developers are defaulting, that the building is being used as evidence for the time being.
