Default Local Motorcycle forums??

So I just sign up to the local motorcycle forum and it seems everyone on there knows more then everyone else.

Eg. Someone asked if the should use a rear stand or side stand to tightne a chain?

I said its easier to do it on the rear stand then double check your measurements in multiple locations on the side stand with the bikes weight on he swing arm.

Next person said I was wrong as you cant get the correct reading without the shock compressed so you should ratchet the swing arm up or disconnect the rear shock and lift the swing arm to full compression and adjust it to the factory spec like that.

Like who would go through that hassle to tighten a chain?

I'm assuming most of these guys on the local forum are just weekend warriors that put no mileage on there bikes.

Rant over.

Honda manual actually suggests doing it on the sidestand.

sometimes jerkwads on those forums like to post stuff like that just to see if the other guy will do it.

LOL, the amount of mis-information can be staggering. "I read it on the internet, it must be true"

Speaking of mis-information, where you been hiding?!? You have any idea how many people we've prolly misinformed without you backstopping us in your absence?

Yup. I'd say that's a true statement Bewley. And its on the interweb.

Our local forum around here is crazy - its like the wild west. Watching the regulars go back and forth is pretty entertaining and there are lots of events / local rides / meetups posted but I rarely post there.
