It could be worse. You will find a job eventually, you've got 4 months before your kids due which is plenty time.

Keep the spirits high and dont let it get to you.

Jail sucks, 24 hours was enough for me to pull my hair out and that was for a stupid "no helmet" ticket that I said "EFF YOU" and never paid and got arrested for not paying /doh!

Military is always good. Serve your country, 3 hots and a cot. The military will never leave your wife and soon to be child in the cold or hungry. Steady pay with a yearly increase and a free education which you can now pass onto your wife and or child.

Go talk to someone about it. Try the USAF first if you don’t want to be far from your loved ones. I’m currently Active duty AF. Once you get stationed the military moves your family for you. I see me wife every day. I get paid on the 1st and 15th. They pay our rent, food and medical and still give me a paycheck on top of that. You can sign up for 4 years. I think you can do 2 years in the reserve. Ya ill deploy but its 6 months at a time but that price is minimal for what I receive. After your time if you don’t like it then get out. You have served your country and on top of that when you go look for a job they will now you’re a changed man seeing that you served. Plus in this economy the job security can’t be beat. Plus you’ll have the experience in a new field which you can make a career out of. There is no greater feeling than knowing my wife and I will eat and have a roof over our head and that in the morning my car will start and if I get sick ill get the right care. If you have any questions just PM me.

I’m not a recruiter by the way.

Great minds think alike
But seriously, go to a recruiter or search the websites. If I'm not mistaken, it's like no more than 3 misdemeanors in 5 years, no felonies, no domestic violence convictions, mental institutions, stuff like that; but I'm no expert.
If they won't take you, then there's always the Foreign Legion.
