RE: LCD or DLP
The research I did on TV's brought me to this conclusion. (May be wrong, may be right) Plasmas will lose picture quality from the day you bring it home, it may not be noticiable, but it will be there. DLP's have a much much bigger footprint than Plasmas and LCDs. DLP's will give you burn-in, and also the annoying side viewing problems. I have a buddy that always has to have the best of everything andhis stuff never has problems, (I am sure we all know a guy like that) he has a 62" DLP and it sucks unless you are right in front of it. The new 120hz LCDs are the way to go. Especially if you are a gamer. If you are a gamer, make sure you get a TV that has more than one HDMI port.
Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong

50" Samsung DLP, love it. Had a 40" Samsung LCD, screen tearing was awful, picture quality was great though. DLP cost like 400 less than the LCD, so I returned the LCD for the DLP, haven't been happier.
Of course if you spent the money and got a great LCD from Samsung with a really high hz, then that will reduce screen tearing significantly.
