A bit of an update.

Woke up this morning with some pain in my left shoulder and soreness all around, pretty much what I expected. Haven't gotten close to wanting to take any medication for pain so it's not bad at all. Could have been a lot worse

Here's some pictures, sorry there's so many!

I'll start with the damage to my bike.

And the gear...

And the damage to me...

okay.. yeah the bike has some good rash going on..

As for your gear..
Most of that is just really light superficial scuffing from what i can see.
Get it down to a good upholsterer and he should be able to fix up your seams that have split.
the helmet.. Replace that. one good knock is enough to warrant a new one.
Boots.. Again.. looks superficial.

All in all i would say your gear got off really light.
Try sliding down the roads here in NZ and you will see real road rash. ( we have really nasty sharp road chip)

Yeah, some gear is done for, some is keepable.

Helmet, pants and gloves are all trashed. Jacket and boots are reusable though.

Looks like about $2,500 in losses which could have been worse but for a college student who's trying to purchase a new car...it's a lot. Oh well I guess.
$2500 is a ton of money for anyone man. I'm not in college. And that's a ton of money.

. Are you going to ry and sell the bike "as is" or are you going to repair?

Probably try to repair it over the winter and sell in the spring...I really could have used the money right about now to put towards getting a new car but I guess that has to wait until spring.

The difference between comprehensive and collision is this...
Comprehensive covers you for Theft, Vandalism, and Acts of God. (Lightening strikes a tree and it crushes your bike)
Collision covers all accidents, whether your fault or someone else's.
My policy is $525 per year With Comprehensive, but NO Collision.
The Collision coverage by itself is $1084.00 !!!! And I'm 37 with 18 years perfect driving record.

So sorry to hear about the bike, but at least you can still ride again.

I'm sorry man, it really sucks to see this happen to anyone but at least your alive and in one piece to talk about it. I know your probably thinking how bad it sucks right now and why me, but in a while you will look back and realize how lucky you really were and how much worse it could have been. Get that bike back together and riding again. GL

Sucks when this happens, but I think your over reacting. The gear is fixable for a whole lot cheaper then buying new stuff. The bike is not bad at all. New rearset and it could be ridden by the looks in the pic. Sure getting all new oem stuff to replace everything with a scratch is huge money but to get riding again isen't and thats what counts.

Glad to hear you're ok. That's what matters.

I'd look at your insurance papers again. I didn't know it was possible to get Comprehensive without Collision. But you may not want to turn it in. Insurance company is very likely to total the bike for that damage. Much of which can be ignored or repaired pretty inexpensively.

When you feel better, pull the fairings and check for any real damage.

Is that a bent frame slider in the pictures? If it is, which brand is it? I doesn't look like it helped much.
