Keep your bike Lubed (and I'm not talking about the engine)
I'm talking about the wiring. Seriously, I've had 3 electirical problems in the past year with this bike. They say everything's waterproofed, but don't believe it. Electrical problems have left my 6 year old bike stranded twice, and at the dealership 3 times. The bike is solid, but rain or shine, she's going to be ridden.
Well, the weather outside was beautiful here today in Ohio... So i decided to crack her open and rip the guts out.
So it begins...

Get the gas tank off. I did have a faulty Map sensor so my FI light was flashing and telling me... Not no more!

What I used. The dealer gave this to me for free...

Got just about every single connection point from the ECU to the turn signals.

Hopefully that puts an end to this BS for another 6 years.

That's the way it should have rolled out of the honda factory. It might raise the price of the bike 10-20 bucks, but am I the only one who would pay it?

If you don't have time to do all this stuff, there's a quick way to do it without taking the fairings off. Some of the more critical points on the wiring harness have a protective rubber cover to keep them dry. A lot of them you can reach. Make sure they're covered and tuck them out of the way.
On the F4i, the lifeline that supplies electrical power from the stator to the battery to keep it charged connects right by the suspension. It is constantly getting soaked with water by spray from the tire. I wrapped this one up real good with electrical tape. An easy way to find this is look for the 3 big yellow wires on the left side of the bike. next to the suspension spring. Why this is positioned in the most vulnerable possible position, i have no idea.

Another big one is the wiring harness up front too underneath the gauge cluster. I've had a few problems with that one in the past. It's got one of those proactive covers on it as well. keep it tucked and dry.
