Just out of curiosity..
i quit when i can feel the tires starting to get squirrely on the turns - which for some reason seems to happen around:
I think I had to stop riding for 1 week during the winter when it first started snowing. I'll ride but just complain more, I also don't go as far because my hands are the first to go (I realllly need to get some better wintergloves).
I got some heated grips and bought a cheap DIY heated liner kit (to put in my jacket liner) that kept me nice and toasty. Just for the hell of it I took the bike out and road on some icey roads and snow. It wasn't as bad as I thought but I did get a lot or 'WTF' looks from people.
When spring came I reallly had get used to other bikers on the road. I was one of few for so long.

I don't know what I would do emotionally if I have to put my bike away for extended period of time due to weather. I will be a grouchy bitch for sure. Do you guys try not to look at your bike for that period?
I put on a bike cover immediately to resist the urge to ride. I live in condo, garage access...so every time I see my CBR, the urge to ride seems so helpless....I am saying this because I only get to ride once a week. No more than 1800 miles a year. This is because my job & kids keeps me so so busy. Thankfully I live is SoCal where riding condition is year round. 4 years ago I purchase my CBR at 18k miles, now not even 25k yet. I always try to make up opportunity to ride because I seldom have chance to....I envy those who get to ride on daily basis...
In the winter time here, the weather is so spuratic. One day it will be cold and snowing, the next will be sunny and warm.....maybe 50F.
But i shut her down for sure the end of November. Fill the gas, add stabilizer, change oil, lube chain, battery tender. I also use that time to tear her down and deep clean everything including the air filter and box and any other maintenance that needs to be done. I know this year it will need brakes.
