Nauree, you only have to scratch yourself in most African countries, and you'll get Tetanus anyway. If the world had piles, I suspect Chad is where the ***'d be !
Not a pleasant place, even without the crap going on ATM.

How many people died on this mission?
Brother I know you meant that jokingly we have known each other a long time. But because of a recent events. I'm going to take a minute and address that whole subject. There is not one time when we gear up. There is not anybody I operate with goes out looking just to shoot somebody or engaged somebody. We avoid contact at all cost. We are heavily armed as individuals. It is jokingly said, each one of us carry on our person the same amount of firepower as a fire team. This may possibly be true, but that is all we have and we must always remember that the Calvary is probably not over the next hill and any safe haven is temporary and speed will always be our best ally. A constant vigil and paying attention to detail will keep you alive, a lot longer than spraying and praying. It does nothing but call attention to yourself. I'm fortunate enough to work for a company that has its own aviation wing, and at times does provide air cover a BIG +. This is extremely difficult on low-profile operation, and not practical. High profile operations is a different story. We have our air cover when permitted sometimes regular air cover, cannot be provided. Because of ongoing military operations and believe it or not. We do not supersede at any time, active military operations and would not want to hinder those in regular uniform.. Traffic jams are your worst nightmare on PSD duty if at all possible if things look like. It's not going well, you will call for the CAP (counter attack patrol) this is a rolling patrol when you have multiple convoys in the area, which is made up of CAT's (counter attack trucks) are sometimes referred to as hate trucks. I heard some of you guys say you think I'm brave these Guys are the bravest son of a bitches I know these guys come into really blocked traffic on a level I can't even describe and to draw absolutely all fire on them selves and only fire in return. When they have a clear target and can clearly identify a target as a threat to the convoy. These are sometimes made up of heavily armed vehicles like a cougar. But more often than not, they are hillbilly armored SUVs with nothing more than SAW's (squad automatics). The patrol can be as small as two vehicles are as large as 4 the best scenario is 3. 2 heavily armored vehicles and 1 lightly armored fast vehicle. They are at times required to exit the vehicle and take control of around bout or square to completely block traffic and allow a convoy, whether high profile or low-profile to clear the area. This is a scenario closer to the LA shootout than anything else. Especially if any time is spent waiting for the convoy is like setting off a alarm inside a police station and your the bad guy I won't even begin to tell you what it's like to try to put a client in a vehicle. When a crowd has gone native on you. You must rely on your hand-to-hand skills and nonlethal physical brute force to muscle your way to the vehicle in a volatile situation like this. The last thing you want to do is discharge a weapon. It may send the wrong signal to the team
The last thing I would like to say is you must remember when it is a government contract for instance all KBR convoys in theory are supposed to use regular military PSD. Notice I said, in theory, other individuals within the government like the Army Corps of Engineers is escorted by private military contractors and rely upon their skill and firepower to maintain their security. The DOS (Department of State) is the same way, along with a few other groups within the government. And when you're dealing with the government. You can tell them all day long. It's not safe to move, but if they decide to roll. You must equip yourself for the job and rollout and be prepared to take a hell of a lot of harassment if it's high profile. If it's low-profile with non-armored vehicles or lightly inconspicuously hillbilly armored vehicles, pray to God. You're not spotted, we do not operate on the same radio frequencies as the regular military. In theory everyone has access to what the old-timers referred to as Guard Channel I'm not even going to start down that road. If the client is civilian, you can at anytime, decide to turn around and head back or call it off, which happens a lot. Even on short trips of less than 20 km . Do we fire at vehicles that approach at high speed. All the vehicles in the convoy have large signs that say remain 100 m away. Their screamed at in Arabic to ( back off ) lights and siren are going. If you're passing them. If they break the 100 m mark something as thrown at them. It still coming next a short burst from the rear gunner is laid down on the pavement in front of the vehicle. If they're still coming the engine block is the next thing to go. At any point when they're closing on you if a weapon is brandished they are eliminated. You must also be careful you're not being overtaken by somebody else's convoy and don't accidentally fire upon them. So want you to think about what it takes for somebody to actually be shot at. if you guys have got any questions and are willing to keep it civil. I'll be happy to try to answer them

. That knee get any better for ya?
