Is it just me?
Even since I joined I've noticed the winter slowdown.
As to there being fewer of the older CBRs, I'm not convinced. A few years ago that would have included the F2, F3 and F4 but now it includes the F4i as well. Also, as the bikes get older people feel more involved in the community of their fellow owners and need a self help group like this more.

My FZ1 and general moto forums all see the same, i.e. not many younger folks joining. Most common reason suspected is that the format of the forum just isn't what the younger gens utilize these days. I think that there are a lot less sports bike riders as well, at least in my area...
That's an interesting viewpoint that I hadn't considered. One other thing that I see is there seems to be this generational thing about driving in general. I know several young people who were in no hurry at all to obtain their driver's license and hit the road. They are much happier to let someone else drive. I've never been able to understand that. I was knocking down the door of the local license branch the day I was eligible to get my license.
I reckon the lowering of the post count in that any new forum member must post 100 times before being given access to the Buy & Sell posts thing would be a good idea ...especially as I've just today realized I'm going to be needing a few things...maybe
The 100 posts thing I think is the usual given across most forums I think it has been for some time and I get the whole Newbie thing someone joining just to try and get bits. Most of the tryers on kinda people I think would find it a pain in the *** to post even 50 times before being given access but I'm thinking 50 is fairer than 100 and it "could, always be at the forum owners/moderators' discretion. I see it on this kinda basis, if whoever it is posts absolute rubbish they get no access but if they are obviously genuine and being a constructive part of the forum and community then, all good, whaddaya reckon

We don't have a buy and sell on my forum but the equivalent limit is for posting links and I always set that down at 5.
Having it set manually by the admin is a pain - we need a holiday occasionally :-)
