Its just not in the Cards
Agreed. I like horses if I'm like standing next to them and petting them but in all honesty (and poke fun where you like), The thought of riding one scares the crap out of me.
My bike doesn't think for itself and if I get thrown it's not because it decided it didn't want me up there anymore.
Its all her decision I'm just giving my opinion. Been around horse's, rode them, and taken care of them and If I had to pick between a horse and my ride, the bike would win hands down. If you view it as a pet I could see the dilemma but comparing a horse to a dog is unfair. I love my dog and wouldn't think of selling her but she doesn't cost me 1/10 of what it would to properly care for a horse.
Horses are definitely super-pricey if they're not working/earning their keep. They're a luxury I can't afford, which is why I'd pick the bike. Others choose differently than I, though, and that's fine by me.
Yeah that's what I was getting at, I know the cost of a horse compared to a dog is a huge difference, but for many horse owners it could be the same emotional bond. My ex-girlfriend's family dropped a few grand to put their cat through surgery after it was hit by a car. There are a lot of people that would place selling/giving away their pets as a last resort.
I understand that horses aren't for everyone, but I'm a firm believer (and I'm sure you will make fun of me for this) the outside of the horse is good for the inside of any person. She isn't just a horse, she will be the start of my Handicapped riding center, so that I can teach anyone with disabilities how to ride. So this horse will allow me to get my my certification and help move my dream into reality. Plus, my mother is giving me the horse because she knows that I will take care of it, she was going to sell it but couldn't find the right home! So I will be still saveing for my bike, just not as much as I want to
