Points, fines, doesn'r matter....either way, you got enough points you lose your
license, or to get it back have to pay I know of at least a $1,000 fine...every year for several years.
(Texas has become one of the U'S. leaders in fines, both in number and in cost.)

in louisiana you can plea article 894 which dumbed down, keeps the ticket off your driving record if you're a good boy for the six months after the ticket. you still have to pay the ticket and court costs obviously, but its worth it in my opinion. just gotta be on your toes about how fast you're going for awhile is all. but ask around, there has to be a few other states that offer something like this.
