actually no a ticket for 14 over means no points on your license... 15 and up on the other hand means you do get points on your license
That depends on where you live.

In texas, going 11 over means two points on your license.

It's the "Texas Driver Responsibility Act" passedin 2003.

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/directo.../pr081903c.htm

Get enough points (only 6) and they send you an additional fine, they call it a "surcharge". Not supposed to affect insurance, though.

I don't have the link, but also in NY, there is a driver responsibility program where you must pay 150 p/yr or 450 up front as a slap on the hand. I believe then, throughout that 3 yrs it's kinda like a DMV probation or something like that. It's based on certain violations under article 34 of NYS V&T laws. Sorry, I was lazy and didn't want to look up the exact details, but this shares the idea behind it at the least. I think I got off topic though.

Thanks randy...I've noticed you got my back a coupla' times. [sm=shades.gif]

Points, fines, doesn'r matter....either way, you got enough points you lose your
license, or to get it back have to pay I know of at least a $1,000 fine...every year for several years.
(Texas has become one of the U'S. leaders in fines, both in number and in cost.)

I'd pay $500 if I could get this ticket thrown out somehow.
Well...you should've told the cop that this way you wouldn't be in this predicament! hahahhahahahahha

in louisiana you can plea article 894 which dumbed down, keeps the ticket off your driving record if you're a good boy for the six months after the ticket. you still have to pay the ticket and court costs obviously, but its worth it in my opinion. just gotta be on your toes about how fast you're going for awhile is all. but ask around, there has to be a few other states that offer something like this.
