This is a topic that I have debated very much in my head. I believe that suicide is only the answer to living, not depression, losing someone you care about, etc. Well suicide will solve all your problems, it creates many more problems for the people that loved and cared about you, in the end it's a very selfish thing to do.

On the flipside of all this the most selfless thing someone can do is give their life for another person.

I had a co-worker and friend (spend 40 hours a week for five years straight with someone and try not to be closeto them), shoot himself at work on a Sunday. It wasn't my Sunday to work, thank God. I didn't have to find him. It messed all of us up. My other friend, Gary, found him. He said Matt was still gasping when he found him, and had nightmares for months (that's what Gary told me, anyway). So, you don't want to be around? You are a selfish *****! From a person who has had to lose someone to suicide...F_ck You! Think about your friends and family. They will never have a chance to say another word to you, they will alwayswonder what they could have done, and they will never understand why. That is my opinion on the matter. Everyone has these sorts of thoughts at some point or other. Gotta be strong and bear with things til they get better. They can only go up if you're at the bottom.

 

One of my best friends threatened to kill himself with a train because his wife (with whom he cheated on) didn't want to talk to him...

Basically he finally realized his mistake and was trying to get back with her...which she was willing to work things out when she first found out...but he didn't change back then. He avoided telling me he was cheating because he knew I would give him holy hell for it. Anyway, I talked to him, and told him he was being selfish. In the end I ended up 302'ng to the psych ward of a hospital.
