Take this as an opportunity, I had a buddy who needed a major life change, so he decided to hitchhike to alaska with $40 to his name, and he made it there, got a job crabbing, and eventually hitchhiked his way all the way around the country back to new york.

From what I have seen in my line of work, most people that make mention of this don't really want to do it, they are looking for help. You have to worry about the ones that don't really say anyting at all.
