I need help!!
Hey people
I just got stationed in Hawaii, and I guess to get registered out here you need to get a safety inspection. I haven't been able to get a straight answer, but unofficially I've heard that I need to basically take the bike back to completely OEM to pass, and that's just not my style. Anybody know of anyone that can pass my 09rr?

A greased palm does wonders. Check hawaii's regulations. Techncially in Virginia the turn signals have to be at least 11 inches apart, so no fender elems / integrated turn signals etc - and that's just silly.
With that being said, 95% of the places you would take your bike pass it as long as the major things work. They just don't know the laws. Now if you take your bike to a bike shop and have them do it it would get failed.
Anyways goodluck! Nice looking bike. Post up some more pics.

Instead of going off unofficial sources, I'd probably just find out what it needs to pass. There are tons of different configurations even on stock bikes.
There has to be rules and not just "stock".
I would guess that the biggest thing may be reflectors/screen/exhaust noise.
I'd have a look at THIS MANUAL and talk to your local shop guys.
