Default I know it's not the right place but...

It's so nice out that I'm getting ready to finish up somethings on the 929 that I thought of yesterday - then I'm going to head out all day.

Quick question - my gas cap virates at low RPM's- very annoying. I have some gasket maker (all different types) and I have some gasket material that I can cut as well. The material is suitable for applications involving fuel and oil - now the question...

My gas cap has an o-ring on it to presumably seal it. Should I use threadlock on the 3 mounting bolts, and make another gasket for the base of the cap - sos to curb any of that vibrating?

Any ideas, comments or concerns? Thanks for a speedy reply!

Ithink that the bolts wouldn't sit flush on the tank if you put the gasket on that way. But it wouldn't hurt to try...

edit: if i could spell right today...

Sos that's your only real concern? Cool - think I'm gonna give her a whirl. Maybe I'll just use a touch of the liquid gasket maker and see if that helps, then maybe I'll try the gasket material and cut it to size/shape.

Thanks man!
