I found every person I talked to about a bike on Craigslist get upset when I ask questions. Even one I just wanted to see for a parts bike.

With household things though I've had great luck. I got a wonderful Washer/Dryer for $150. I got a lot of other things for a few bucks here and there, and I've occasionally bartered with skills. Owning a pickup truck and having IT skills have really paid off for bartering.

I think Craig's List just shows what the real statistics are for the amount of population that is either uptight, jerks, or not very bright. But, if you can stay cool and wait for the right thing, it's worth it.

I LOOOOOVE Craigslist!! I have bought, sold and traded soooo many things on craigslist, including my F3 and spare parts for my F3. I even got my friend laid by posting in the "casual encounters" section...I can't believe it worked. I LOVE IT and couldn't imagine my life without it!!

We always do it by only giving out an email first. We screen people via that, then *we* call *them*. Anybody who feels sketchy doesn't get to see the goods.

I always had a HUGE problem with nearly everyone who responded ending up in my spam folder, so I'd never know anyone even sent me something. It suuuuuuucked, cuz I never remember look in there, and then i find someone who wanted it like 4 weeks after it sold.

I've had pretty good luck with Craigslist so far. Bought a nice cell phone, a stereo system, gym equipment, and even traded my PS3 for a laptop...sold a couple of low dollar items as well.

I haven't done any business over Craigslist with a dollar value over 500 dollars yet, so maybe that's where the issues come in?

I found a roommate from when I moved from Wisconsin to California on Craigslist. Together, we found an apartment on CL. I bought all my furniture from CL, made some friends on CL...

Needless to say, I like it.

I bought both my bikes off craigslist...never had an issue.

I bought my ninja 250 for 1900 off of craigslist, then sold it through craigslist for 1950 2 years later, hah!

Got my current f4i off craigslist at 1000 less than what going rate was too...good experiences for me, though yeah you always gotta watch out for sketchbags.
